Game changer: Link-Belt's all new ATC-3275 brings a North American focus to all terrain cranes
Lexington, KY (February 9, 2011)—In a move sure to shake up the industry, Link-Belt will unveil their all-new, Link-Belt-designed and built 275-ton (250-mt) ATC-3275 all terrain crane at ConExpo, March 22–26, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Manufactured by Link-Belt at its Lexington, Kentucky, USA, plant, the ATC-3275 is the first all terrain crane engineered with a focus on the North American market. Designed with extensive customer input, the ATC-3275 will meet the toughest transport laws in North America while also meeting Tier IV Interim and EPA 2010 on-highway requirements. The ATC-3275 marks the first time a modern AT crane has been designed and manufactured in and for North America. Critical to any market is the ability to transport. The 3275 breaks new ground with its modular counterweight system. None of the weights is more than 22,000 pounds (9 979 kg) and can therefore be grouped together or with other components on transport trucks to maximize the loads. The 3275 with maximum counterweight, rigging, matting, and fly extensions can move with just four truckloads.
Unlike other AT's, the 3275's upper engine mounts transversely to allow maximum space for the stowable fly. A 12-ft (3.7-m) heavy-lift fly has lift procedures for two-load-line picks. An optional three-piece bi-fold fly hydraulically offsets from 2 to 45 degrees. A manual, four-position offset is available as well. Managing lifting functions (rated capacity limiter, boom telescope, etc.) will be a newly developed Link-Belt control system that will be unveiled at ConExpo.
The cabs aren't the only things that make this crane easy on the operators. Like all Link-Belts, extensive customer input helped make the ATC-3275 safe and easy to service. All connections and service points are centralized and easily accessible. Similarly, the pressure for every hydraulic system in the upper can be checked at a single location. Large doors give ample room to service both upper and lower engines and every filter location is planned and designed for access. Available autolube systems (with manual overrides) in the upper and lower frames automatically lube at timed intervals. With the introduction of the Link-Belt ATC-3275, the worldwide crane landscape will be different. Just as Link-Belt revolutionized truck cranes, so has it done with all terrain cranes. The game has changed.
